Press the <Alt> key to display Key Tips. They first appear for all Ribbon tabs, and the Quick Access toolbar in MS Office 2007 or 2010. Key tip icons are displayed over each feature. Press an access key to execute the command

Hold down the <Ctrl> key to select non contiguous text. Hold down the <Shift> key to select contiguous text

Excel  
When creating a database table / list use the SUBTOTAL function to total columns. When filtering records your total will display only for those records that are displayed.   Tables in 2007/2010 do this automatically when you add a Total row.

PowerPoint

Convert a bulleted list into a SmartArt graphic. Right-click the bulleted text and point to Convert to SmartArt. In the gallery, select the layout you want.
