Course Length:                       1 day or two half-day sessions

 

Who should attend:                Someone who has been using Excel and now wants to work more efficiently, using better design in developing their workbooks.

 

Suggested Background:         Excel Introduction or equivalent skills.

 

This course will teach you tips, tricks and traps so that you will solve problems which you have encountered.  You will learn to design and develop more flexible workbooks, including an introduction to the 3-dimensional capability.  You will also build relationships between files and learn to use additional functions.

 

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

Use absolute and mixed cell addressing in formulas

Create input cells and summary areas

Use label names in formulas

Use the Paste Function tool to create formulas

Protect cell contents and assign passwords

Create a simple chart

Force a new page to print, use Fit to Page, and print a selection

Hide and move rows and columns

Repeat headings for multi-page reports

Insert, name, remove and move worksheets

Work with worksheets in a group

Sum across worksheets

Link sheets with formulas

Consolidate and outline worksheets
